We say, “I’m just busy. I’m really busy. I’m loaded. I’m jammed”. Over the next few moments, we’re going to look at busyness because the Bible tells us there is a way to have sanity in our schedule. There’s a way to have peace in the midst of this storm and the book of Proverbs gives us what I call the A-B-Cs to unlock the choke hold, to(unlock the chains of stress and anxiety around most of our schedules.
I’m beginning a series this morning entitled, “Directions to Success City”. Today we’ll talk about busyness, taking a right turn at Busy Boulevard. Next week we’ll look at Admiration Avenue. We’re going to look at how to win friends, something called Friendship Freeway. We will see how to become successful in the eyes of God, and when I use the word “success”, I’m not talking about financial success; I’m talking about living at the center of God’s purpose and God’s will for your life and my life. That is success. But one of the first things we have to understand is we have to have a schedule that makes sense…a schedule that’s balanced, a scheduled that’s focused.
Then, after we have the schedule, friendships come into play, and after friendships, we have to earn and gain the respect of others so we can use our sphere of influence. The A-B-Cs of sanity in a busy, busy schedule. Take your Bibles and turn to the book of Proverbs. We’ll be in Proverbs all morning. In fact, we will wear the book of Proverbs out during this series. Proverbs, a great book in the Bible. You’re talking about a book of application, a book of relevance.
